They say that there are two kinds of people who own motorbikes: those that have been in an accident and those that haven't been in an accident yet. This might seem a bit extreme, and without a doubt, many bike riders will be shaking their heads right about now, but unfortunately it is quite true.
Without thinking too hard about it, you can consider people who drive cars around instead of bikes. Think for a moment about how many people you know, who drive cars, who have never ever had an accident. This obviously excludes people who have been driving for a short period of time. The number of people who have never had an accident is minimal.
One of the realities of driving is that an accident is bound to happen at some point, and when it does you better pray you have car insurance. This is not to say that everyone should now try to get their accident out of the way.
Whether it is bike insurance or car insurance that you have, you have that insurance in case anything bad happens. All this means is that you are prepared.
By driving a car or riding a bike on the road we are taking a risk. The only way to minimise those risks is by being careful and making sure you have good insurance.
